About me
You have taken a big and brave first step into bettering yourself and addressing your mental well-being. I have a wide range of clinical/therapy experiences that include three different inpatient/outpatient hospitals, a non-profit organization, and four different college-counseling centers. I have worked with individuals from various different backgrounds and identities treating a wide array of mental conditions. I work collaboratively with clients to help understand what their goals are for treatment at which point we can talk about ways to reduce symptoms and improve your quality of life. In our collaborative work together, we will process and explore barriers that may be inhibiting you from your full human potential. Starting counseling can feel like a scary and overwhelming experience, but know that this is the first step to bettering yourself. Counseling can improve both your personal relationships with family and friends and give you a sense of fulfillment in your life. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me.
My areas of interests and expertise include working with adults, people who have been diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety, substance abuse, work burnout, compassion fatigue, interpersonal relationships, men and masculinities (Working with men in Counseling) gender identity, new fatherhood, self-compassion, and life transitions. I also teach to Psychiatric Residents at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
I practice from a mainly Psychodynamic framework, which can be defined as examining people’s emotions and internal reactions, beliefs, early-life experiences, and how they are related to present-day functioning. In our collaborative work together we will process and explore patterns that may be inhibiting you from your full human potential. I also practice from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Existential lens when working with patients. I aim to create a safe space to process and explore aspects that may seem like a hindrance to reaching your full potential.
